Chorea Kozacky, Huljajhorod. Terra Cosaccorum. Ukrainian traditional and noble music of the 15th-18th century.

"Terra Cosaccorum" is a joint album by the Ukrainian groups Hulyaihorod and Chorea Kozacky. At the same time, "Terra Cosaccorum" is the Latin name of the Ukrainian land, once known in Europe.

What Europeans knew in the 18^th century, our contemporaries discover anew today. For by virtue of certain historic circumstances, "terra Cosaccorum" turned into "terra incognita" both for inhabitants of the Western Europe, and for Ukrainians as well. And now we take from the shelf the old map of Ukraine and remove dust from it to see the wonderful world of noble knights and the high culture. A great merit for that goes to musicians of "Hulyaihorod" and "Chorea Kozacky", who explore the antique Ukrainian music. The name "hulyai-horod" (movable battle construction with loop-holes used by Zaporizhia Cossacks for sieges of fortresses) outlines the topic of folklore searches of the group. "Chorea Kozacky" ("Cossack dance") is also unique among music projects exploring antique music, because among dispersed spiritual, secular and folklore sights it selects the pearls that reveal the unique face of the ancient Ukraine-Rus. In their expeditions, "Hulyaihorod" search for folk singing and dances. "Chorea Kozacky" reproduces antique aristocratic music. Due to their tandem, you can feel and evaluate traditional and noble music cultures."
