Yuriy Sayenko, New International Orchestra "INSO-Lviv". Rizdvjani fantaziji (symphonic suite). (Christmas Fantasies)

We know Lviv composer Yuriy Sayenko well, his recent disk – fantasies on themes of songs by I. Bilozir, "Flowers in Dew" – was released not long ago. Here is a new disk, and again interesting and very nice. Though, here he acts only as the author – but the author of a whole symphonic suite "Christmas Fantasies". It comprises melodies following themes of Ukrainian Christmas carols – and Yury Sayenko proves as responsible, thin master of interpretation. Actually, melodies of these Christmas carols are beauty in themselves. But here they just charm with fairy-tale transparency, the feeling of lightness and, simultaneously, saturation, filling. They absolutely naturally balance on the border between celestial and earthly music, between ordinary and elated joy. Wonderful work. I would like to also speak separately about the performer – the New International Symphonic Orchestra "INSO-Lviv". I think, it is its professionalism and very exact feeling of nuances made it possible for the melodies to sound so joyful, with such light and tenderness – they have invested one hundred percent of their soul in this performance. One can hear that both the composer, and the orchestra treated this project with a great care, with awe – with their whole heart. And that is why I repeat with pleasure – a wonderful work. I am sure that this disk will bring joy both to children, and to adults – both in winter, and in summer – both in cities, and in villages. Careful, tender joy.
