"Do not perceive what you will hear entirely seriously. Do not try to define who took what exactly and when for temporary using. The very idea of blending lies in an attempt to find two absolutely different songs created on the two sides of the ocean, but in the mixed variant they represent an absolutely new, unexpected sounding of the favorite tracks" – this is what the polygraph to this album says, therefore we leave the intrigue of revealing the "tails" involved for the captious listener. It will hardly be very easy – but the more interesting it is) And speaking about the overall sounding of the disk – we should mention that everything occurred successfully. Some "fresh blood" in a set system is hardly ever superfluous. Well, and Tonique le DeeJay is known not only due to his participation in the group TNMKongo (although this is also a certain indicator of quality), he has the reputation of an inventive experimenter, in particular – exactly in creating blends. And, actually, it is exactly due to his work that we now have an alternative view of "Boombox"'s work – and so many new tints, nuances can be heard here that there is just no sense in enumerating them. Just listen – it will be interesting, for sure.

...The updates are not so radical that it is impossible to recognize originals – but, on the other hand, the sound nature appears surprisingly diverse. Since a good deal of styles are mixed here, the key common feature of all the tracks is not a certain style but high energy value. Actually, it always happens with Tartak.

Usually "The Best Of" collections are released in a period of calm, when there is still not enough fresh material. But Boombox did it the other way: this compilation has appeared just before the release of a fresh album – and soon after the release of the collection "Blends, Mixes and other Music Parodies". Why so?

He, sure, matures – but this for some reason does not prevent him from looking and seeing, noticing and being engaged, understanding and – speaking. Loudly, brightly, sometimes recklessly. It is not known whether "Tartak" is afraid of being not heard – but it definitely is not afraid of expressing the truth. Thus, with a noticeable shade of irony and even sarcasm – however, without cynicism..

"Samosaboyzz", no doubt, has its individual face. Contradictory, ambiguous – but that is, in our opinion, exactly where the considerable potential is hidden: opened endings intrigue far greater, don't they?

...stories told without excessive pathos, without picturesque poses – our cities, our lives appear in them. Without moralizing, without pressure – and it is for this reason, however surprising, that you listen to it very attentively. And it intersects with your own ideas, with your own stories and other people’s fragments – and this album is no longer mono, but stereo.

Sashko Polozhinskyi, the group’s frontman, once called himself a tender “hooligan”, if I am not mistaken. The same epithet may be applied to the art of the group “Tartak” in general, because notwithstanding a powerful energy explosive, peculiar practically for their every composition, this music is not aggressive.

...the original combination of rap, hip-hop and heavy-metal gives "De Shifer" the opportunity to even today not only keep pace with others, but also to be in the avant-garde of modern Ukrainian music.

These guys took hip-hip rhythm, entwined it with Ukrainian melody and Ukrainian tongue and seasoned with curious experiments. They give this cocktail to their fun... One more, please!
