Inflammatory Carpathian melodies for dances and amusement. Virtuosity of performance and high spirits, gentle nuance of sound and variety of repertoire. There are the Carpathian melodies presented here, and as you know, not only Ukrainians live in the Carpathian Mountains, that is why Polish, Hungarian, Slovak and Romanian songs and dances can be found here, too. These are not usual tavern musicians (though, of course, there are Masters among them whose names are written with the capital letter “M”) and you may feel pleasure of their performance from the very beginning up to the end. Still, this music is so light that it will be pleasant for you to listen to it, having rest with a glass of drinks in your hand. By the way, it seems important that there are no synthesised sounds in this performance, only authentic instruments are used – and this fact also adds lightness and lucidity.

It is known that the name "Petrovychy" is not for nothing but because Petro is still the father of the majority of its participants. It is known that they are not ashamed at all to play under open-skies – that is why central streets of Ivano-Frankivsk accepted them long ago. As they play not just well, but even very well – they have already had time to become a real decoration and pride of the city.

...music recorded at the CD is really various, cheerful and alive. I would like to stress – alive. Forty one tracks – forty one groups from the whole country, and at that there’s no synthesizers here. It is, I’d rather say, a force...

Was fьr ein Traum diese ukrainische Volksmusik!
