Ukrainian Authentic Folklore. Feast Songs. Golden Collection.

It has somehow become a habit for some reason that Ukrainian feast songs – if we speak about traditions – far not always are frisky and merry. That is, we have quite a lot of humorous songs, but there are also a number of sad, plangent songs, such that turn one's whole soul outside. Well, but as feasts are different, and not every party is able to end with a merry note – so that's how it happens that almost every feast arrives at a moment when someone starts a pensive song. And – that's it... After that, jokes are no longer on the agenda – from deep inside some wave rises so sad that it is just necessary to splash it out in a song, otherwise it is possible to just choke. Paradoxically, in such situations even easy, not serious songs are sung somehow so that a strange listener perceives them as sad ones. However, this is a far better method for releasing superfluous emotions than a fight, a conflict, etc., isn't it? With a plangent song the heart clears up. After that, it becomes empty, quiet and – light... It seems that the new collection from the "Golden Collection" series sets as the objective exactly this sort of impact on the listener – at all events, we believe that it is quite able to lead through sadness to calm and joy. In the end, the collection includes really beautiful songs in wonderful performance. Besides, the sound quality is a positive aspect here – it is hard to believe that some of these records already have 20 years of age.
