Erko. Nostal‘hija. (Nostalgia)

Last time Severyn Palydovych's – Erko's – recordings were released in Ukraine approximately five years ago. At that moment that was virtually the only example of the modern Ukrainian chanson – in the, so to say, correct understanding of that term. Since then something did change, a few albums by different performers have been released having a more or less expressive link with this type of the variety song. But it seems that till now Erko remains the only one who works in this direction stably and consistently. And thus – has all grounds to be considered the best one there. However, clear business, it is not only about consistency – it is about that special manner in which the material is offered. This is some truly surprising combination of simplicity, sincerity and lyricism – plus, sure, the characteristic timbre of the performer's voice. All of that together creates a very warm, soft, transparent atmosphere, and it is the name of the new album – "Nostalgia" – that characterizes it, probably, best of all. Actually, just listen. If this is the first acquaintance – we believe, it will appear surprisingly pleasant. If you are already familiar with works by Erko – let us only note that the new meeting can hardly be expected to disillusion you.
