Boris Demenko's mastery does not need superfluous promotion. Even if you have not heard his performances, you could earlier already hear the record of pieces by Borys Ljatoshinsky performed by him. But today's release is even more complex and interesting than the previous one. At least, here you will hear works by several at once – namely, thirteen – Ukrainian composers-innovators (among them, by the way, there are also Ljatoshinsky’s students). And, in addition – a Bulgarian one. Here, there are pieces both by such well-known masters as Y.Stankovych and V.Silvestrov – and pieces by authors who are not that familiar to the wide public. However, as the talent and fame have never been immediately connected with each other, we also won’t pretend that such direct dependence exists. We’d better pay attention to that practically all works represented here are extreme rarities. Their manuscripts and recordings have been preserved only in Boris Demenko's personal collection – except for B.Buevsky's and V.Klin’s recordings. In due time, it was forbidden even not to just perform this music – but it was dangerous to mention it publicly. And it is Boris Demenko who became the first performer and interpreter of all these pieces – and the majority of them are extremely complex for performance. However, certainly, the articles in the disk polygraph can tell you better about it. And best of all it can be expressed by the music – unusual, unknown, ambiguous.

Romuald Twardowski composes in 2006 "Kyivska" Liturgy – and dedicates it exactly to the chamber choir "Kyiv". Such honor and attention could not remain without an answer – consequently, as it could be expected, the choir became the performer of the Liturgy... This is, sure, a good record – transparently soft and strong at the same time.

It seems to me that it is just impossible to pass by that rest, internal force and freedom that sound in his works. Confidently – but not boldly, nobly – but without boasting, posturing. Music by Sylvestrov practically always causes the feeling as though he stands in front of the face of eternity with his head uncovered but raised – and you, the listener, at these moments stand next to him...

Надеюсь и далее радовать Вас чем-то вкусненьким, если, конечно, до того не уем себя вечными сомнениями и неуверенностью... Только что выучил новое сочинение В. Сильвестрова, готовлю ещё и другого автора... И ещё... С удовольствием поиграю,чтобы непосредственно ощутить и увидеть Ваш отклик, пожелания и критику по поводу качества мной исполняемого... Цикл двух дисков современной фортепианной музыки Украины демонстрирует широкий диапазон композиторских техник, жанров, образов, стилевых явлений, нюансов традиций и новшеств. Непрофессионал откроет здесь яркие и искренние откровения души отечественных поэтов звуковой палитры в их разнообразии звуковых красок, а порой и драматических порывов.
Где-то два десятка лет тому назад словом "авангард" пугали наших соотечественников. Теперь это просто синоним всего нового. В представленной на дисках музыке есть как тональные, так и разного рода атональные сочинения, различные явления "нео" - неоромантизм, неофольклоризм и др. Но везде заметна интересная особенность в отобранных Б.Деменко произведениях. При большом разнообразии композиторских технологий в каких-то нюансах вырисовывается что-то интонационно родное для уха и души наших современников. У В.Филиппенко это явные отзвуки голоса Украины, у В.Загорцева или В.Сильвестрова это выявляется более опосредованно, но оно есть везде!
Появившаяся таким образом возможность услышать малоизвестную музыку может воодушевить и профессионалов-исследователей, потому хочется выразить искреннюю признательность интерпретатору этой исполнительски сложной музыки.
Для пианиста, поднявшего такой интересный художественный материал и осуществившего выпуск двух дисков данный труд можно считать творческим подвигом, значение которого трудно переоценить. Безупречность, отточенность разного рода исполнительской техники Б.Деменко, его искренняя любовь к новой отечественной музыке и желание призвать слушателя познать то, что он сам пережил, придает исполнению ту художественную искренность, которая явно откликается не столько в слышании, сколько в переживании того, о чем музыкально «думали» авторы – наши современники. Здесь и высокая культура ритмики, педализации, насыщенная стихия
динамики контрастов и всего того, что составляет существо исполнительского профессионализма.
Второй диск кроме отечественной музыки содержит еще и столь же качественное исполнение музыки болгарского композитора, технически более традиционной. И здесь исполнитель на высоте, что говорит о том, что этот музыкант в любом случае находит адекватные средства интерпретирования авторского текста, к каким бы стилевым истокам он ни был бы ориентирован. Следует отметить отличную звукорежиссуру и техническое выполнение записи, отвечающего самым высоким требованиям современных стандартов и критериев качества.
