"Medicus" is a variety jazz band. The year of creation is 1960. The first name of the orchestra was "Rhythm". From 1966, the band, after long wanderings, received the name "Medicus", having permanently settled in Lviv State Medical Institute. The jazz band of Igor Khoma was the first to represent Ukraine at the jazz music festival in Tartu (1960) and the only Ukrainian collective at international jazz festivals in Tallinn (1965,66,67). "Medicus" band took part and won in such all-USSR and international jazz festivals as "Youth-1973" (Dnipropetrovsk), "Jazz Over Odra-1973" (Wroclaw), "Krzysztof Komeda Memorial-1975" (Warsaw). "Medicus" band got the high title of the People's one (1970), released two discs (the USSR recording firm "Melodia", 1975,1976)." (quoted from the release's polygraph)

This disc is not just the first compiling of the best live-records by Er.J.Orchestra. Moreover, it is also a collection of rarities – because the greater part of the pieces represented here have not been released neither in the studio nor in the concert versions till now. Well, and enough has already been said about the quality of whatever Er.J.Orchestra creates.
