This mini-album was created on the basis of music pieces by Bohdan Wesоlowsky – the composer who lived in Lviv in the 1930-1940s. Then his magic music was extremely popular, he was then an active participant of Yablonsky's jazz-choir. The unique music materials found their way to Oleh Skrypka through the Canadian Diaspora: it is to Canada that Wesоlowsky emigrated because of political prosecution. The work realized by Oleh and a team of like-minded people can be referred to as restoration – and the authentically reproduced arrangements and performance of these songs can even today easily dip the audience into the atmosphere of the Ukrainian city at the beginning of the century, waking the feeling of sweet nostalgia for the romantic past. "The 'retro' style, in which this album is performed, I believe to be exquisite, – Oleh Skrypka says. – It is a wonderful sight of the high style. Besides, jazz, tango, foxtrot, swing are usually considered European and transatlantic genres, while with this project I want to demonstrate that our country as well has its own rich, unique and high-quality music history!". Rogachevsky is the current guitarist of "VV". Starting from as long back as 1998. But he was also engaged in music earlier – actually, fruits of those exercises are collected in this double disk. We admit – these fruits are strange, and not everyone will enjoy tasting them. But if you like minimalism, punk, ska and rock-and-roll – by no means pass by it.

This refers both to the song, and the video for it – Oleg Skrypka and his friends are not afraid of subjecting themselves to creative experiments, that is why the video "Chio Chio San" for many became a real surprise..

A deserved answer to all the skeptics who said that VV would no longer be able to compose a single strong piece. They've managed – and work over a few new pieces is in process now. Moreover, "Lado" is, presumably, truly one of the most beautiful songs in the whole history of VV.. If one dared drawing conclusions on the basis of only one song – it would be possible to say that VV is acquiring a new face.

На жаль, це зовсім не є достовірним відтворенням музики 30-х. Ця музика писалася для танцю, і основне у ній були не слова, а мелодія. Тому в оригінальних (чи майже оригінальних) виконаннях чуємо довжелезний музичний вступ, і вже на другому плані вступає виконавець зі словами. Рекомендую оригінали! Тільки ж не можна їх тут купити...

Дякую за можливість висловити свою думку!
Я цікавлюсь українською народною творчістю, тільки не офіційними напрямками, а те що в підсвідомості людей, предки яких були українцями. Люди завжди не згодні з офіційною владою, яка б вона не була, бо держава це примус. При Союзі розвивалась туристична пісня, "блатна пісня", зараз видно, як в Росії продовжує розвиватись блатна та "військова пісня", бо у них іде війна, великий військовий бюджет. Оскільки моя держава, на жаль, не має інформаційного кордону, то результат цього впливу пісень на поведінку людей ми відчуваємо в житті. Як кажуть, всі проблеми північної імперії мають у нас своє відлуння, тільки викривлене: люди переносять сюжети пісень на свою поведінку, на своє відношення до другої людини, суспільства в цілому. Альбом Скрипки Олега цікавий в тому плані, що він розкриває реальне життя на планеті Земля, а не реакцію людини під впливом пропоганди, типу "Любе". Я думаю, що цей напрямок в Україні зовсім нерозкритий і він альтернатива проти засилля імперського з півночі.

Олег Скрипка знову здивував!!! Не чула цих пісень в оригіналі, тому судити про те, краще чи гірше вийшло у співака не можу. Але те, що Олег дав цим чудовим пісням друге життя саме по собі уже є доброю справою! Дуже оригінальній і цікавий альбом!!!

Я страшенно поважаю і люблю Олега Скрипку --- надзвичайно творчу і глибоко патріотичну людину, котра так багато зробила для української культури. Завжди любила без вийнятку ВСЮ його музику --- відколи вперше його бачила на сцені на укр. фестивалі в м. Сопот (Польща) аж до "Відради", в тому числі переспіви західніх гітів й відео-проекти. Хоч радію з появи належної уваги до прекрасного композитора Богдана Весоловського (до речі, латинкою пишеться J.B. Wesоlowsky), тим більше прикро, що не можу радіти від постмодерної інтерпретації О. Скрипки цих ґеніяльних пісень. Для порівняння, послухайте ориґінальні (канадські) записи тут
