Rodion Ivanov is well known both among fans of high-quality pop-music and those of jazz – because his own music tastes are obviously not limited to any specific direction. And this to its full has showed up in the first solo album by Rodion – "Electric variete". There is space for everything here – atmospheric electronics, funk, the decorations in the form of two very different but also very expressive female vocals, to say nothing about the wonderful instrumental improvisations, an so on, and so forth.. until it becomes clear that the style limits are only needed to be overcome. However, does not the title of the album speak about that? Pop-music? – probably, yes. But – of the highest sort. That is, we believe, it is "light" only from the point of view of the person who is accustomed to truly paying attention to what he / she listens to. The person who is interested in classics, improvisations, electronic experiments – but does not consider it an excuse for scornful attitude to other musical expressions of the world. It seems that music by Rodion Ivanov will feel equally well in nightclubs, and in car record players. And it will, sure, fit no less naturally, into a jazz concert – Kyiv audience already had the opportunity to make sure of that. Rodion balances very delicately, mixes bright paints – and does not let his pictures turn into senseless spots. The hand of though young but master – probably, we should put it so. Rodion Ivanov – keyboards (1-6,8), programming (1-4,6,8), Rhodes (7,8), piano (9) Pavel Litvinenko – keyboards (9) Anastasia Markova – vocals (1-3,9) Aniko Dolidze – vocals (5,6) Igor Zakus – bass (1-3,5,6,9) Vitaly Savenko – bass (4) Maxim Gladetsky – bass (7,8) Mikhail Bankovsky – guitars (1-4) Ivan Bondarev – sax (1,3,4) Dmitry Alexandrov – sax (9) Sergey Sidorenko – trumpet (1,3) Dennis Adu – trumpet (6-8) Alexander Garkavyi – drums, percussion, vocal (4) Alexander Lebedenko – drums (5,6) Valery Volkov – drums (7,8) Oleg Markov – drums (9)

...this is also the first Ukrainian jazz album of 2012. Externally – the ordinary minimalism, the classical trio: keyboards, bass, drums. This team worked for some time at the ocean liner "Amadea", hence, actually, and album's title. While internally – the same minimalism, but flavored with imagination and endurance simultaneously.

Three musicians with huge experience recorded something transparent, subtle, and humanly simple – something that majority of young ones could not do. Just because there is simplicity which can be saturated, to which you come through hundreds of melodies and thousands of hours of rehearsals and performances.

Jazz music, by definition being in a permanent creative quest, at the same time possesses surprising tolerance and is not afraid to look back... The music represented on this disc suggests that we rewind the tape of history for about 50 (and more) years back and plunge in the times when (wonder!) music instruments were still the key transmitters and sources of music.

..it is very nice that we have succeeded in finding for our store – and, thus, for you – a few copies of the album "More than Words". This work – even though the recording was made in 2002, is a convincing illustration of that beautiful and high-quality music does not get old, does not become outdated. This is the beauty of free, self-confident people – seriously, just hear each of them..

Volodymyr obviously enjoys this music – and does prevent his colleagues from doing the same) Quietly, nicely, confidently and – in the best sense of it – modestly. One can say this far not about any album: this time the musicians came together exactly for the sake of the music-as-the-state..

This album is the last one in the Jazz Impression discography, because in 2008 Anatoly Alexanyan, sadly, passed away. But in some way it is also the first one in the Jazz Impression discography... The album introduced can also be referred to as a double one – because it consists of the material of two key pieces by Anatoly Alexanyan & Jazz Impression, namely "Full Moon In Korea" and "Marfa".

...there is a great temptation to just listen, absorb all the waves and internal flows of this music. "OrganiZZmo" really successfully combines Latin American and European colors of jazz – absorbing the life-asserting sunniness of the former and the thoughtful precision of the latter, it does not attribute decisive advantage to any of them.

This kind of 3D, really composer's vision in jazz is encountered far not every day – and certainly comes into notice. It thrills and inspires some, with some it causes protest – but, as a rule, does not leave indifferent. Because when a feeling stands behind music supported by a developed thought...

It either laughs or winks wilily – or sounds with such pensive tenderness, such forgivene... There is the beauty of every minute, which does not depend on the past or the future, which is – just now, and for this reason – always.

"USB-Blues" resembles meditation – mobile. And it is possible to really hear how the idea appears, the first step – and then it literally grows in front of your eyes, develops, blossoms. There appears the effect of presence – and, which is nice, repeated listening does not make it wash out. That is, there is a space of attention – both mutual, among the musicians, and individual attention..

From the first seconds, the album tunes one into attentive perception – even if you have never before heard Olexiy Bogolyubov. And if you have already had the chance, it will a priori be interesting to listen. Internal harmony, balance both of each play and of the disc as a whole – pleasantly delights. "My "Cool & Crazy" World" is a beautiful, diversified work, in which Bogolyubov demonstrated himself well both as the performer, and as the composer.
