It would seem that the album with such a title should contain only heroic songs. Nothing of the kind. You will hear songs about war at this disc, but they are all lyrical ones. In no circumstances I would deny that partisans were heroes. But still any hero is in the first place a human being. And all possible feelings which exist in life are peculiar to every human being. That’s why you can find everything here – sadness, love, despair and hope. In one word, life. Because no matter how long a war is, it hasn’t managed to win over life so far. That’s the very reason why these songs invigorate you, though they are sad. They remind you about the value of life as it is, and teach you to look at everyday squabbles calmly. I just wonder, who can win a calm person over or drive him from the right way? I think, nobody.

The name of the collection, on the whole, provides rather exhaustive information about its content. If you know at least something about this period of the Ukrainian history – probably, some of the songs represented here will be familiar to you as well. Because no matter how hard the official authorities tried, they did not manage to destroy the living memory..

Наскільки мені відомо - це перший диск пана Вермінського. Виконання, як і в усіх подальших роботах - пречудове, хоча й вдаєть ся у знаки явно комп'ютерне аранжування. Особливо радують збережені виконавцем першобутні слова. Наразі це рідкість, бо більшість сучасних виконавців часто (з незрозумілої мені причини) істотно змінюють слова в старих піснях. Чудовий диск. Рекомендую до придбання.

Менi дуже сподобалося виконання пiсень. Прикро, що в Українi (!) у Севастополi такий CD можна купити тiльки через Internet.

Schoene soldatische Musik. Zwar kann ich Partisanen als solche nicht gut heissen, da diese den Tod von Zivilpersonnen billigend hinnehmen (heute wuerde man diese als Terroristen bezeichnen). Doch wird auch die UPA viele dieser Lieder gesungen haben in Ausuebung ihrer Pflicht dem Vaterlande gegenueber. Gut zu hoeren ist die Diskrepanz von Heldentum und Trauer in dem Befreiungskampf der Ukraine.
Slava Ukrajina!
