Not all but at least a part of the pieces represented here could have already been heard by you before in previous releases by Tsviten ensemble and Maria Pylypchyk – it is nice to hear old acquaintances. Humorous, wedding, Christmas, lyrical – the list can be continued for a long time, because this collection has absorbed a very rich palette of Ukrainian folk songs. Due to such variety of topics raised, there appears a strikingly saturated, voluminous feeling – you perceive this disc as an entirely separate world, as a period of human life. And here, as well as in life, everything mixes up sometimes, strict sequence, recurrence of the events that they sing about go into shade. But exactly in this mixture – life sounds. For it never follows any schemes invented by us – it flows obedient to its own laws, sometimes unexpectedly intertwining birth and death, jokes and sadness, work and rest. And we, unless we want to let life pass by, must forget about artificial schemes – and trace this live flow, follow it, guess its transformations. The same is true about this disc: instead of inventing any schemes of perception, we suggest just submerging into its live, warm space – and breathing with your full breast, for in Ukrainian songs there is everything that is necessary for real, deep breathing. And when these songs are performed as they are here – trust me, you want that the disc sounded for far not just one hour...
