I generally do not really like various collections – practically regardless of what music they comprise. Just because I often prefer to go as deeply as possible – and that is why I try to listen to complete albums, not fragments. I know that this is my personal business. But I mention it here only because exceptions happen there – and the today's disk is one of them. The compilers of this collection have already for the second time, it seems to me, succeeded in doing the almost impossible – drawing the integral picture based on not just separate fragments, but on self-sufficient ones. Each of the songs represented here may already by itself be a bright representation of a whole epoch. Every voice, every melody, every text are the treasure of Ukrainian variety art tested by time. That is why it is both a little strange, and pleasant that songs on the disk do not compete among themselves, but complement each other, mutually emphasize the advantages. And as a result – there is no that feeling as when you listen to a collection. No. In this case – you listen to an integral, harmonious album. You listen to the uniform mood, time, space... Actually, the very existence of exceptions justifies, although partly, existence of the majority of rules...

...there is so much positive things in this music as may be only in pleasant memories about one’s childhood. I have not remembered about childhood by chance, because it contains melodies, which were popular in different times, starting with 70-th and finishing with 90-th of the previous century. Most of us were children exactly in those time...

For me it was a real discovery that some of these melodies had been popular half a century ago – you see, I thought they were my contemporaries. Still, this fact by itself counts in favour of the quality of the songs presented here – generations change, but they remain.

By its mood, the music represented here somehow reminds beginnings of the American jazz. Actually, these songs, almost all of them without exception, contain the special, touching secret of the naive and sincere sounding. The modern variety art no longer contains such a mystery, and, presumably, will never have it again.

Pay attention – in the 80-th of the previous century disco was performed all over the world, but the Ukrainian disco has such expressive Ukrainian features that you do not want to call this music simply “disco”. Most likely, it may be called “ethno-disco”.

Антон, ты неправ по многим пунктам. Во-первых, радиоприемник я взял для примера, а вся описанная процедура была приведена безотносительно содержимого данного диска. Во-вторых в эфире иногда все же звучат некоторые из этих записей. В-третьих, я слышал гораздо более старые записи, чем эти, они звучали на вполне приличном уровне. Насчет ремастеринга и ценового порядка - но тогда на порядок (а то и больше) уменьшится количество покупателей. А некачественно сделанная запись ну никак не может быть изюминкой - следуя этой логике на записях надо специально уродовать звук для создания таких вот "изюминок".

Я не большой поклонник радио и могу ошибаться - но мне кажется, довольно сложно в эфире услышать те песни, которые есть на этом диске. Да и касательно качества - учитывая возраст, сложно пенять. Любые старые записи звучат, как старые - а если бы их серьезно ремастерили, то диск, пожалуй, стоил бы на порядок дороже. Собственно, это к тому, что лично мне сборник понравился. Не согласен с rain. Все не так плохо - я считаю такое звучание уместной изюминкой. Дело вкуса, конечно)

Возьмите самый дешевый приемник, настройте его на самую дальнюю и нестабильную станцию, после чего запишите с него музыку на самый дешевый кассетный магнитофон используя самую дешевую ленту. Сделайте несколько перезаписей, повторяя последнюю операцию 10-15 раз. В итоге получится запись гораздо более качественная, чем то, что на этом диске.
Собственно, вопрос в чем - за что отданы деньги?
