Group "Yansen Kukansen" originates from Kherson. And groups from this city are characterized by specific drive – we could mention only, for example, "Rolliks", "Sbey Pepel's" and "Kontrabanda.com.ua". Actually, YK is no exception – the group performs cheerful rock with admixtures of pop punk and the aftertaste of hippy aesthetics. And it appears, really, sunny and positive – even though humor is far not the key (although noticeable enough) constituent of the songs' lyrics. This, in the end, is nice – because there are now more and more groups that try to joke, while we hardly witness more jokes) If we, actually, get back to the music – in YK's sound the most arresting elements are, first, the funky guitar and harmonica, and, second, - the sincere, relaxed manner of the front-man vocalist. The impression is that these three constituents – in, say, the unplugged format – would be quite sufficient for creation of no less honest drive than in this album. However, the electric sounding and rhythm section are in no case unnecessary – vice versa, they add to the overall palette certain universality. And all of this together – allows the group balance between the serious and the not too much, leaving some space in order to reveal its own face not like any other one.
