Iryna Shynkaruk. Mira. (Measure)

"Measure" is not just a new album by Iryna Shynkaruk. Actually, this is not even an album in the ordinary sense of the word, it's something different. The singer says that this project currently does not have analogues in Ukraine – and, as far as we know, it does not indeed. Although, it would seem, the idea is extraordinarily simple and obvious. However, for successful implementation one needed not only a good idea, but a good conductor – a person whose name is able to come into notice, no matter how unexpected the next step appears. Iryna Shynkaruk became such conductor – and not in vain, as the result deserves attention. It has several components. The first – these are two collections of Iryna's poetry, "Birth of Voice" and "I Feel". Beautiful poetries – expressive, vivid, ambiguous. Abstract, lyric, mocking, intimate – female. The other – the voice, her intonations and accents, for all the poetries on this disc are recited by the singer herself. Sure, this is not just reading aloud – for Iryna knows for sure what feelings are inlaid in this or that text. And the third component – the author musical compositions created by DJ Mihal especially for this project. All of that together forms a bit unusual but interesting artistic space, which the authors name the "music/state".
